Caterpillar Parade

The annual Caterpillar Parade takes place on the second Saturday in April as part of the Spring Into Green Market. Inspired by the caterpillar-shaped step ladder in Olde Towne's Lions Club Park, the Caterpillar Parade features Calliope, a fifty-foot-long caterpillar, and welcomes hundreds of participants each year.

April 13, 2024 The parade begins at 10:00 AM at Lions Club Park

Anyone and everyone is invited to march in the parade, from parents with strollers and wagons to children on bikes. The parade is unique to Clinton and has gained renown throughout the metro area and the state of Mississippi. Main Street encourages everyone to get involved by decorating their business, storefront, or home with a Caterpillar theme.

The parade begins with a reading of "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" at Lions Club Park at 9:30 AM. Following the reading, this year's Caterpillar Queen will be crowned, then participants will line up for the parade. The parade will be led by the grand marshal, golf cart floats, a marching band, and Calliope the Caterpillar.

After the parade, families can pick up their very own crysalis to take home with them, courtesy of Main Street Clinton.
